Before you decide

How to choose a good domain name

Make it easy to understand aloud

Say it out loud. If people ask how to spell it or whether the words run together, you will lose visits and emails.

Short beats complete

You do not need to include everything you do. Two words are usually enough: your brand name, or your activity plus your city.

Avoid hyphens, numbers and repeated letters

They are among the most common typing mistakes. Also avoid joining words that end and start with the same letter.

Make sure it works in your email address

The name will come after the @ in every message. Picture sales@ followed by your domain; if it looks too long or awkward, keep looking.

Make sure it is not someone else’s trademark

An available domain does not make a name available as a trademark. Check the Colombian Superintendence of Industry and Commerce trademark register before printing cards.

Frequently asked questions

About the name generator

Is the domain name generator free?

Yes. Use it without registering or sharing your details. You only pay if you decide to register one of the suggested domains.

Are the suggested domains really available?

Yes. The tool checks availability at that moment and only shows available names with their one-year registration price. A domain is not reserved until you register it, so do not wait if you find one you like.

What word should I enter?

Use one word without spaces or dots: what you sell, your brand name, surname or city. Try a synonym or another business word if the results do not feel right.

What if the name I want is already taken?

Try another extension, such as .co or .com.co instead of .com, or add a short word such as your city or activity. Whois can show whether a domain is registered and, for many extensions, when it expires.

Can it help me choose a company or brand name?

It gives you ideas and checks domain availability, but it does not search trademarks. Check the Colombian Superintendence of Industry and Commerce trademark register before adopting a business name.
